The Yankees had six mound visits in the first inning of Game 4. Then came eight — count ’em eight — visits in the fifth inning.
There are a number of reasons why Jorge Posada needed to talk with his pitcher. Dodgers third base coach Larry Bowa reportedly gave one possibility. The former Phillies skipper seems to think the Phillies have been stealing signs.
“For Bowa to come out and say something like that if he doesn’t know what he’s talking about … if he doesn’t have cold, hard facts … he shouldn’t say something like that,” said Philadelphia center fielder Shane Victorino. “It’s just not something that should be said.”

“Obviously, if we’re stealing signs, we would be doing better than what we’re doing right now,” Victorino said.
Teams are allowed only one official visit by a manager or pitching coach per inning, but there is no limit on player-to-player meetings. MLB?officials said this could change next season.
“It would fall under the province of pace of game,” MLB vice president of umpiring Mike Port said.
