The star treatment given to the celebrity parents of Blue Ivy Carter at Lenox Hill Hospital has been at the center of controversy since the moment the famous tot was born.
The State Health Department launched an investigation after Beyonce and Jay-Z were rumored to have preferential treatment and VIP access around the hospital, interfering with the stays of other new parents. However, the probe was quickly closed after the Health Department found that Lenox Hill had committed no wrongdoing.
The couple reportedly spent $1.3 million in renovations and security measures for a birthing suit that took up an entire floor of Lenox Hill. Hospital officials deny the couple shelled out that much, but TMZ has obtained photos of Beyonce’s luxury hospital room — and it looks more like a suite at Four Seasons.
