PHOTOS: Gov. Baker poses for selfies at Salvation Army promo

Gov. Charlie Baker, Massachusetts’ reigning king of the selfie, snapped dozensof photos with passersby at Downtown Crossingon Monday.

Baker was in the neighborhood to boost awareness for The Salvation Army and its donation kettles, one of several local figures using their celebrity to solicit donations.

The charity hopes to raise $3.4 million statewide this season and still has to raise $1.3 million to meet that goal, according to a news release. The campaign ends Dec. 24,Christmas Eve.

Baker, one of several public figuresto serve as “Celebrity Ringers” for the nonprofit,offered to take a picture with anyone who donated money to the cause.
