Sunday was the first-ever second day of the annual Freedom Rallyon Boston Common.
This year was the first year organizers scheduled the pro-marijuana festival to last the entire weekend, but permitting issues with the city almost canceled that plan.
Organized by the Massachusetts Cannabis Reform Coalition, which supports the legalization of adult marijuana use, the Freedom Rally typically attracts thousands to the Common to hear bands and speakers — and to smoke pot.
Crowds on Sunday were lighter, but organizers called the event a “tremendous success.”
