PHOTOS: Pope fever takes over Madison Square Garden

Clergy men and women took over Madison Square Garden Friday night in preparation for Pope Francis’ historic Mass.

Metro was on scene at the Garden, which was rolling out the holy carpet for the pontiff as though he were one of the countless rockstars to grace the famed New York venue.

Mass was set to begin at 6 p.m. In the hours leading up to the celebration, visitors gave confession, enjoyed concessions, and staked out their seats.
