The Boston Red Sox were honored today by President Barack Obama to congratulate their 2013 World Series championship. David Ortiz was there and posed for a selfie with the president.

While all the players attending the ceremony were dressed in traditional, dark-colored suits for the special occasion, outfielder Jonny Gomes literally wore his American pride on his sleeve when he arrived to the ceremony wearing an American flag blazer.

Gomes is known to be a passionate and eccentric player off and on the field, and this move shows he’s proud to be an American.
