Until now, Apple’s MacBook Air has held the title of thinnest and lightest laptop, but all that changes today with the unveiling of the HP Spectre. It’s just 13.3 inches diagonally across and 2.45 pounds, though larger sizes of 17.3 and 15.6 inches diagonally across are also available.

“The HP Spectre is the thinnest notebook in the world, and unlike the majority of other super thin PCs on the market, this laptop doesn’t compromise power or features,” says Kevin Frost, vice president and general manager, consumer personal systems, HP Inc. in a press release.

The 13.3 inch Spectre can be preordered now for $1,1250 at HP.com and BBY.com and will retail for $1,250 in Best Buy stores starting May 22. The 17.3 inch Spectre will retail for $1,030 and the 15.6 incher will sell for $680.

Other features include a 9-hour battery life, full HD IPS display, 512 GB of storage, 8 GB of memory, SP Audio Boost technology speakers by Bang & Olufsen and USB connectors.

In addition to the standard silver, HP will also release limited editions made with 18K gold and diamonds. The limited edition notebooks were designed by Tord Bootje, whose work has been featured in the MoMa and Smithsonian Design Museum, and Jess Hannah, a fine jewelry designer based in LA.
