Play On! The official Canadian street hockey tournament is coming to Halifax along the Common this weekend and a record 208 teams are scheduled to participate.
The tournament, which features competitive and non-competitive divisions, will be held on Cogswell Street. It’s free to attend, with plenty of sponsor tents and giveaways.
“It’s a great community event, to come out, get some exercise and have some fun,” event coordinator Scott Dillman said. “There’s something for everybody, and it’s a way to get the community involved and promote health and exercise.”
Play On! was in Edmonton last weekend, with 171 teams. It is scheduled for future stops in London, Ont., Winnipeg, Calgary, Langley, B.C., Oshawa, Ont., and Ottawa.
