Playing the Field: Alex Rodriguez goes by the name of ‘Cacique’ … oh, and he still likes steroids

Good news baseball fans, a heaping bowl of steroids indifference is coming your way.

For years NFL fans have turned a blind eye to players using performance-enhancing drugs (PEDs), first because the sport is so popular and second, because the players who are caught have been mostly defensive players and/or non-skill position players (i.e. non-fantasy players).

Baseball has long been the sport of North America’s major four that has been the most scrutinized for its PED-use and unfortunately for hardball fans, nearly all the biggest names of the past 20 years have been linked to ‘roids.

Today the Miami New Times reported that Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, who has already admitted to using steroids from 2001-03, received PEDs from South Florida biochemist Anthony Bosch.

Because most sports fans have been beaten down with “steroids in baseball” stories over the years and we already know that A-Rod is a bona fide juicer, this story might just get a couple days of play despite eventually becoming BALCO Part Deux.

For most sports fans, the most fascinating part of this report is that A-Rod was referred to as “Cacique,” when ordering up more juice. A simple Google search of “Cacique” immediately brings up links for “Women’s plus-size underwear and bras. 36C – 48DDD.” Now we’re talking!
