Playing the Field: LeBron tackles fan after halfcourt shot

LeBron James is a real human being! Sorta.

James spent the weekend being celebrated for tackling a fan who hit a half-court shot to win $75,000. He’s suddenly the most down-to-Earth athlete ever. Personally, that celebration had an awkward Misty May-Kerri Walsh roll in the sand quality to it.

Whatever.

I’d just like to spend this space criticizing Michael Drysch, the guy who hit the shot. Watch the video of his shot below and tell me that’s not the worst form ever. A hookshot? What the hell is that?

Are we sure LeBron is celebrating with Drysch and not tackling him as a way of humiliating him for that ugly shot?

“They told me to put some spin on the ball, and get it up there as high as I could,” Drysch said while accepting the check. “I had made that shot something like 1 percent of the time in my life.”

Put some spin on it? No, no. You vomited that shot up and it went in by accident.

Of course, no one can top the vomit-worthy writing of blowhard Darren Rovell, who quickly chipped in with the fact that the shot will cost Drysch $22,000 in taxes. Who are the idiots the accountant refers to in that story who don’t realize you have to pay taxes?
