We have our first replacement referee scandal. And who would have thought, it doesn’t even have anything to do with a stupid call on the field.
Brian Stropolo, who was supposed to be a side judge in today’s Saints-Panthers game and does not in fact own a pizza place in Queens, was yanked from the crew after ESPN reported he was a huge Saints fan.
How do we know? Well it was plastered all over his Facebook page of course. Oops.
The scary (funny?) thing about this is if no one looked at his page, the guy would’ve been officiating the game. The NFL came about three hours away from it. And what if the guy had pulled his own page down before the season?
Seriously, NFL, stop being so cheap. You make trillions* of dollars (*factually in question) and you can’t pay these guys a little more money. They get slaughtered on a weekly basis and yet they are still significantly better than anyone else in the world. They deserve the hazard pay.

There’s also an excellent one of him standing outside the Superdome with a beer in hand. It would’ve been great if he’d worn that turtleneck during the game today.
Ozzie Guillen is back on Twitter
The greatest manager quote of all-time jumped back on Twitter last week because he was feeling “bored.” And Ozzie Guillen has already gotten in trouble.
He targeted ESPN’s Buster Olney with a few choice words after the reporter questioned whether the Marlins had given up. (Probably something to do with that quote about Guillen being bored.)
