If you’re into disgruntled, over-religious, third-string quarterbacks, ladies, today is a day for joy. Yup, Tim Tebow is back on the market. Us Weekly had the following today:

“After less than two months of dating, the New York Jets quarterback and actress Camilla Belle have called it quits, a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. Explains the source of Tebow, 25, and Belle, 26: ‘It just didn’t work out.’”

The quick romance first became public a day before Halloween when Tebow and Belle were spotted “grabbing kisses and holding hands” while bowling at Latitude 30 in Jacksonville, Fla.

What a horrible year it has been all-around for Tebow. Just think, one year ago on Dec. 19, 2011, we were smack-dab in the middle of Tebow-mania. Tebow, then the Broncos uber-popular starting quarterback, was prepping for a Christmas Eve showdown with the Buffalo Bills. Yes, yes – Tebow did throw three interceptions and had a QB rating of 37.9 at Orchard Park that Sunday. But that’s beside the point. At the time, this was the most popular YouTube video in these United States of America:

Today, this video is about as relevant as Paul Ryan.

Greg McElroy is starting for the New York Jets this weekend in a meaningless game. Tim Tebow might be mixed in to the gameplan if he’s lucky. And he needs a new lady friend to grab kisses and hold hands with. Are you that girl?

Brian Scalabrine, who was the ‘great white hope’ for many Nets, Celtics and Bulls fans over the years, is issuing a challenge to the city of Boston.

“I do a radio show out there, and there are people on the street that really believe they can beat me. So we’re doing tryouts for the top 10 people in Boston to play me one-on-one.

And we’re playing to 11. And we’re gonna film it, everything. The reality of people and what they think NBA players are like. I’m the last guy on the bench and I will kick your butt if you’re out on the streets. It’s just the way it is.”

Make no mistake, Scalabrine is smart. He is fully aware that the best basketball players in Boston aren’t really that great anyway. I mean, who is the last great hoops player to come out of the Hub? Dana Barros? Billy Curley?
