The more things change, the more they stay the same when it comes to the NFL’s offseason. Patriots cornerstones Bill Belichick and Tom Brady owned the Internet’s sports section for a couple of hours this week for two totally different, but stereotypical reasons.

Belichick has already done multiple Belichick things at the NFL’s league meetings in Orlando this week. It began Monday when the Hooded One skipped out on a league-affiliated picture that was supposed to feature all 32 NFL head coaches. Instead, it featured just 31. Belichick later said about his absence from the photo: “I missed it. Maybe they can Photoshop me in there.” To which the Internet replied, “31 coaches and Buccaneer Bill on the wall.”

Belichick wasn’t done Tuesday, as he – continuing his tradition as the less enthusiastic Mark Cuban to Roger Goodell’s David Stern – created one of the more dry Belichick-isms since “It is what it is.”

Speaking on Goodell and the NFL’s revamping of the replay system, Belichick sarcastically jabbed the NFL league office by talking about its seemingly endless pockets: “We just spent, whatever it was, how many millions of dollars on the replay system? I mean, there’s a thousand cameras in every stadium, so that if somebody spills a beer on somebody, we have it on record, right? Maybe we could have a bake sale. Raise some money for the cameras. Do a carwash.”

Within an hour of Belichick’s bake sale comment that certainly made millions of Goodell haters giggle, E! Online posted a picture of Tom Brady in a bathing suit grabbing the most famous model in the world’s bum in Costa Rica: Click here to view.

Good to see that Gisele and Tom might actually make it. It seems as though the two still enjoy each other’s company after several years of marriage and the spark is still there. Even better to see that Gisele can overlook the fact that Brady owns the exact same pair of swim trunks as me and any other schlup you would see at Revere Beach on Fourth of July weekend (I thought Gisele picked out ALL of his clothing?). The only difference between us and Tom here, at least, is that we refuse to shave our legs. Maybe they can Photoshop some hair on there.
