If you didn’t catch Tim Tebow playing for the Patriots this preseason, let me sum it up: He sucked.

And yet, if you haven’t seen the Jaguars this season, let me sum it up: They suck.

So maybe you have the perfect marriage of suckitude with Jaguars fans now pushing the team to sign Tebow, because “Why not?” No, literally, that’s their slogan.

A group of fans, and we can’t prove it’s more than two (which technically doesn’t really constitute a group), has thrown up a GeoCities-level website to push for their team to bring in Tebow. They will hold a rally for three hours and 16 minutes starting today, Sept. 16, at 3:16 p.m. Those are references to Bible passage John 3:16 (“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.”), if you aren’t familiar.

They’re also taking donations. I’m not sure for what exactly, but if you feel like flushing money down the toilet go ahead and send some. It’d be a fitting tribute to all the millions of dollars already flushed down the toilet on Tebow’s career.

As someone who watched every Jets game last season, let me tell you how bad Tebow was — and is. Very bad. In the preseason for the Pats, Tebow was 11-of-30 (36.7 percent) for 145 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions. He had minus-1 yards passing against the Buccaneers.

But Jacksonville, Tebow’s hometown, is 0-2, starter Blaine Gabbert is hurt (and stunk when he wasn’t) and basically have nothing to lose.

You know a team is in trouble when their local CBS affiliate actually apologizes for having to air their game Sunday instead of the Manning Bowl.

Even Magic Johnson is pushing for the Jags to sign Tebow!

Listen to Magic, Jacksonville. We could all use a laugh.
