Playing the Field: It’s good to be LeBron James

It’s good to be the King, especially when that King is LeBron James.

The two-time NBA champion — wow, that’s almost as weird to type as it is to say — arrived in China Thursday for his four-day Nike tour. The highlight of the trip is the launch of his Nike’s LeBron Championship Pack. Before he started peddling his product, however, James took time out on Instagram to rub everyone’s faces in his immense wealth. Turns out, James has hired a personal DJ to spin for him 24/7 in his hotel room. Is it possible to be even more jealous of the King, because we are.

I’ll take S-words

One of our guilty pleasures is watching Jeopardy! It’s true. We keep it on in the office while we put the print edition of Metro. Our staff is quite good, too.

There are multiple reasons why we love the iconic quiz show, from our obsession with Alex Trebek, its lovable, prostitute-chasing host, to the addictive Final Jeopardy! Anthem — you know, that song they play while contestants write down their final answers.

The premise is basic: three nerdy scholarly contestants compete against the clock — and each other — to buzz in and answer trivia questions for cash. Some are incredibly easy, some are impossibly hard. Although, has anyone else noticed that the questions (actually called answers by Trebek, still with me?) have gotten a lot easier in the past decade? Anyway, the player with the most money wins the game.

Predictably, the geeks brainiacs usually whiff when sports categories appear. This used to be somewhat of an urban legend. But now, thanks to the intrepid reporters at Deadspin, we have proof that it’s fact. Enjoy!
