Red Sox ticket cost prices Taking in a Red Sox game at Fenway Park this season should cost you a pretty penny. Credit: Getty Images

A year ago today, the Red Sox were slashing prices like your local whacky mattress salesman. "America's Most Beloved Ballpark" was a glorified minor league big top, offering cuts in concessions and earlier start times.

A 12-ounce, watered-down beer wasn't exactly a real beer at Fenway Park, but that semi-spiked H20 with rusty food coloring was much cheaper, dropping from $8 to $5. Fenway Franks were "buy one, get one free" and kids were eating "mostly free."

The downside to winning the World Series for Sox fans is here. Boston will have the highest priced tickets in all of baseball, and those food discounts are so 2013, according to TeamMarketingReport.com.

Here are the top average prices for a ticket:

Boston Red Sox $52.32
New York Yankees $51.55
Chicago Cubs $44.16
Philadelphia Phillies $37.42
Washington Nationals $35.24
St. Louis Cardinals $33.84

The San Diego Padres have the lowest average ticket at 16.37 per.
