VIDEO: Jadeveon Clowney runs an absurd 4.47 40-yard dash

If you aren’t one of those people wrapped up in the NFL Draft, you may not realize the NFL Combine is currently taking place in Indianapolis.

If you are aware, then you probably were eagerly anticipating South Carolina defensive end/freak of nature Jadeveon Clowney running the 40-yard dash Monday morning. Clowney was the presumptive No. 1 pick the entire past year, though as is often the case, some team feels desperate to draft a quarterback and the presumptive No. 1 gets leapfrogged.

Teddy Bridgewater, Blake Bortles or Johnny Manziel might be the guy to do the leapfrogging — or then again, maybe Clowney will stay No. 1 based on an absurd unofficial 40-yard dash time of 4.47 seconds.

Clowney is 6-foot-5 and 266 pounds, people. According to NFL Network’s Mike Mayock, the average 40 time for a defensive lineman is 4.77 seconds. Clemson’s Sammy Watkins, who is the consensus top wide receiver in the draft, ran a 4.43-second 40-yard dash this weekend. And he’s 6-foot-1 and 211 pounds.

Clowney is the very definition of the word “beast.” Here he is a couple days ago bench pressing 225 pounds 21 times.

Feel free to draft a QB, Houston, just know someone else will have this guy hunting him down for the next 10 years.
