The history of lingerie football is tragic.
There was this Pay-Per-View event a decade ago enticingly titled “Lingerie Bowl I” that aired at halftime of the Super Bowl between the Patriots and Panthers. The idea was phenomenal. Boobs at the break for those with little-to-no interest in a normally contrived halftime show. But lingerie football’s introduction to America went about as bad as a debut can go.
Those who actually watched the halftime show of the Super Bowl got to see more exposed boob – the Janet Jackson incident – than those who embarrassingly called their local cable company (you still had to do that back then!) to order the LFL’s signature event.
It’s taken 10 years, but the LFL finally made some progress this week. The video above is gaining some steam on the interwebs, thanks to a brawl that is anything but contrived. In fact the clip features some of the best in-game trash talk that any sport, anywhere has ever captured on camera.
And if you start looking at pictures of in-game action, such as the one below, you begin to wonder, “How in the hell isn’t this sport more popular?!”
