Police say they apprehended a man Friday who is suspected of terrorizing women in Brooklyn, menacing them with a hammer and then raping them.
The first rape occurred on April 9 in Bed-Stuy, police said, when the suspect approached an 18-year-old woman, threatened to hit her with a hammer and then dragged her into a back alley where he raped her.
Later that same day, in Brownsville, police say the same suspect followed a 22-year-old woman into her apartment building and tried to rape her, again wielding a hammer. In that instance the woman was able to fight him of and she fled.
Police said they arrested 19-year-old Queens Village resident Anthony Moore Friday and are questioning him in connection with two rapes. Charges are still pending, said police.
