Police investigate sex-trade worker’s murder

A woman whose body was found floating in the Fraser River is Vancouver’s 15th homicide, police said.

Lisa Arlene Kireche, 41, was a sex-trade worker living in the Downtown Eastside, according to Const. Jana McGuinness. She was last seen on July 10 and was only reported missing to police seven days later.

The body was discovered on Thursday night by a man walking along the shore of the Fraser River near the 9100 block of Bentley Street.

McGuinness said a dozen investigators have been working the case since the discovery of the body.

Police also released Kireche’s photo in an effort to generate calls from the public to determine her last activities before going missing.
