State and local police were investigating Monday after a four-year-old Brockton boy died under what authorities called “suspicious circumstances.”
A statement from the Plymouth County District Attorney’s office said Chauncey Cohen was taken to Good Samaritan Hospital around 8:40 p.m. Sunday by his mother, Tania Merisca.
“According to Merisca, Cohen became unresponsive while she gave him a bath,” the statement read. The child was pronounced dead at the hospital at 9:26 p.m.
The Brockton Enterprise reported that the child was at the Holiday Inn Express on Westgate Road before being taken to the hospital.
At least one person was being sought for questioning in connection with the boy’s death, according to WCVB-TV.
