Homicide detectives are assisting police with an investigation into a suspicious death on the city’s north side over the weekend.
Police were called to a home on 122 Avenue and 93 Street north of downtown just before noon on Sunday and discovered the body of a deceased male.
Police took one person back to headquarters for questioning but no charges have been laid at this point.
Police said the investigation is still in its preliminary stages but EPS spokesperson Lisa Sobchyshyn said the homicide section is simply there to assist investigators.
“They’re there more in an assistance role,” she said. “They’re assisting but it’s still termed a suspicious death at this point.”
The identity of the deceased as well as the cause of death will not be determined until an autopsy takes place.
