A woman’s life was saved when police acted quickly in Tasering a man who was allegedly choking her, officials say.

Police said they were called to Beaconsfield Crescent NW at 5:30 p.m. Sunday to reports a knife-wielding man had stabbed a woman multiple times. They alleged upon arrival, they found a man choking a woman in “a highly emotional, agitated and violent state.”

“It is believed that the quick actions and decisions made by officers to use a (Taser) were instrumental in saving the life of the woman being choked,” Det. Jeff Klinger read from a statement.
