Police seize possible suspect vehicle in bowling alley abduction

Police have seized a Saturn Ion believed to have been the suspect car in last week’s Beazley Bowling Lanes abduction and robbery.

The car is in custody and police are obtaining a warrant so the RCMP forensic identification section can examine it more closely.

The vehicle was stopped on Highway 107 last Wednesday. The 20-year-old man behind the wheel was released without charges.

Four masked men with guns forced two teenage women into the bowling alley early Tuesday morning so they could steal stole some cash from the Cole Harbour business.

According to police, four black males wearing bandanas pointed guns at the victims, including a bowling lane employee who was forced to shut off the alarm and open the safe.

The business had closed for the evening at midnight and after locking up, the employee drove away with her female friend, police say. When the two women pulled into a driveway on Highway 207, another car came up beside them and several men forced them to drive back to the bowling alley, with a suspect car following.
