Halifax Regional Police are thankful no one was hurt after three shootings wreaked havoc around HRM over Halloween weekend.
Though the bullets fired weren’t believed to directed at any particular targets, police spokesman Const. Brian Palmeter said yesterday they are concerned over such seemingly random incidents because innocent bystanders may be harmed whenever a firearm is carelessly discharged.
“At this time, there is no information to suggest that the shootings are linked to each other and again it is difficult for us to investigate where we have no witnesses or potential victims,” Palmeter said. “We would be interested in speaking to anybody who has knowledge of these incidents.”
The third of the three shootings came Sunday night when police were called to the 100-block area of Pinecrest Dr. in Dartmouth after hearing reports of gunshots being fired around 6 p.m.
Police say they found several casings around the scene of the shooting, but didn’t locate a victim or any property damage.
The shooting came one day after two firearm incidents in the Spryfield area.
The first occurred around 5 a.m in the 500-block of Herring Cove Rd. The second was around 10:30 p.m near the intersection of Lemon Walk and Greystone Dr.
Police say they have no leads into the shootings, but are continuing to investigate.
