Q: What kitchen aromas bring back fond memories?
A: Pakistani food — the warm spicy aroma of onions, garlic and spices simmering.
Q: Who is your favourite cook?
A: My mother. She can cook anything and make it taste delicious. She keeps it simple. She doesn’t get consumed by the kitchen, she cooks up a healthy, exotic meal, then she gets on with her life.
Q: What is your favourite food to cook?
A: I love to bake using only whole organic ingredients and I take recipes from health food cookbooks. Oatmeal cookies with peanut butter chips, blueberry crumble and chocolate cake are all regular players in my oven.
Q: How did the first meal you ever prepared turn out?
A: Interesting! I made this dish called Curious And Curiouser Casserole. The name says it all. It was an Alice And Wonderland inspired cookbook. The dish was a mix of chili, pasta, gumbo and tofu.
Q: A: What kitchen gadget can you not live without?
A: My toaster oven. It’s great for making cheesy, melty open faced sandwiches.
