Celebrated author Prajwal Parajuly is known for writing colorful fiction stories about Nepali people and his latest release, “Land Where I Flee” (out June 2) is no exception. The book is about an aging grandmother living in northeastern India whose grandchildren are scattered across Europe and the U.S. The family is all coming back to India to celebrate her 84th birthday, and you know that whenever family comes together, there’s potential for a whole lot of drama.
Parajuly is celebrating the release of his book by hosting a book reading benefiting the survivors of the recent earthquakes in Nepal. Following the book reading will be a photo exhibit by the Nepal Picture Library. All the money generated from the event will be donated to the Himalayan Disaster Relief. The event is being held June 4, from 7-9 p.m. at 110-112 W. 27th St., Suite 600. Click here for more information.
