Environmental concerns surrounding Alberta’s oilsands will be at the top of the conversation topic list when Premier Ed Stelmach meets face-to-face for the first time with U.S. Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi today.
“Our goal there is to appeal to her sense of reason, to communicate very clearly that we are continuing to focus on environmental improvement in developing the oilsands,” Stelmach said.
The premier said he will also be talking to Pelosi about job opportunities in the oilsands as well as energy security and tax revenue generated by the oilsands.
