Hillary Clinton burns Trump when he tries to dis her book

Hillary Clinton

Hillary Clinton has found the perfect book for a president well known for his aversion to reading: a picture book.

Ex-presidential candidate Hillary Clinton sent President Donald Trump a cheeky tweet on Thursday in response to his criticism of her memoir, “What Happened,” in which Clinton reflects on the 2016 presidential election and why she lost.

“Crooked Hillary Clinton blames everybody (and every thing) but herself for her election loss. She lost the debates and lost her direction!” Trump tweeted late on Wednesday evening.

“The “deplorables” came back to haunt Hillary. They expressed their feelings loud and clear. She spent big money but, in the end, had no game!” he continued.

Trump’s dig at his former opponent wasn’t exactly original and it definitely didn’t come as a surprise, and Clinton was ready for it.

“If you didn’t like that book, try this one — some good lessons in here about working together to solve problems. Happy to send a copy,” Clinton tweeted just before noon on Thursday, accompanied by a photo of her just-released picture book adaptation of her best-selling 1996 book, “It takes a village.”

Sick burn, Hillary.

Trump has yet to respond to Hillary’s dig, but the jab did not go unnoticed by Twitter, where users were quick to applaud the former secretary of state for her quick wit.

“She did not come to play today!” Twitter user @justlippe wrote.

To which Twitter user @GordonLuvsEnid replied, “She did not, and it’s awesome!”

Other Twitter users are just glad Clinton is finally letting her true colors shine through.

“I love this new petty, savage side to @HillaryClinton!” @ItsdivaD said.

A few celebrities couldn’t miss out of the opportunity to give Clinton some credit where it was due either. Kelly Clarkson wrote, “Honey Badger Hillary y’all.”

There were plenty of gifs and memes to go around as well, but Jeremy Wein probably put it best with his comment: “(Mic drop).”
