Producer demanded Gemma Arterton film workouts to prove she was trying to lose weight

Those of you still under the illusion that Hollywood and its male clientele can do no wrong probably shouldn’t read ahead. That’s because English actress Gemma Arterton has recalled a story that will make you sick to your stomach, and perhaps spark a newfound hatred for Hollywood, men and, in particular, Hollywood men.

Gemma Arterton revealed that she was subjected to abuse by a Hollywood producer during her recent discussion with The Guilty Feminist, detailing how she was not only forced to have a personal trainer, but that they then had to film her working out for confirmation. That sound you can hear is good men everywhere collectively apologizing.

“There was one film when we were in Morocco and a couple of weeks passed and they literally were like, ‘We need a personal trainer – stat.’ And they flew someone out overnight that gave up their whole life to be with me and be my personal trailer. You know when it’s like that – is it that fu**ing bad that I need an emergency … it was as if they were on speed dial,” Arterton recalled, as she understandably called it a “traumatic” experience.

Going into further detail, Arterton explained, “They’d measure me and they’d call up the personal trainer at like nine at night going, ‘Is she in the gym. And if she isn’t, why isn’t she in the gym?’ And then they’d get me in the gym and film me in the gym so they’d know I was there.” At one point a prominent Hollywood producer, who Arterton insisted was “big, fat,” and “obese” even told her that she couldn’t snack on some dried apricots.

While Gemma Arterton didn’t actually name the ghastly producer responsible or the film itself, the fact that production took place in Morocco means that, in all likelihood, she is referring to Prince Of Persia: Sands Of Time, which was released in 2010 and panned by critics. Gemma Arterton’s stories have somehow made its reputation even worse.
