Empowering family men to begin living the lives they want will quell family violence, facilitators of a new program predict.
The “Reaching for a Good Life” program is receiving a funding boost from the province, targeting men who have experienced conflict and violence, and struggle to resolve their issues in peaceful ways. Officials say the impending program will build on men’s strengths and help to develop positive relationships.
Funding will also support a “safe visitation” program for families at high risk for violence, by providing children a secure place to visit their parents.
