Protests making life for Trump Tower residents far from easy street: Report

With protesters, supporters, press and security camped outside President-elect Donald Trump’s Fifth Avenue home, Trump Tower’s other affluent residents have had enough.

“They can’t get into their own homes without being stopped and frisked and having to show ID,” an unnamed real estate broker told the New York Post. “These are wealthy people. They don’t need this, and they can’t take it any longer.”

The broker said residents interested in moving from the tony skyscraper between East 56th and East 57th streets due to the increased activity have already been reaching out.

“They no longer want to stay there,” the broker said. “Some of them are already planning on moving out, and they’ll decide later whether or not they want to sell.”

The mob scene is also affecting business at neighboring high-end retailers such as Gucci and Tiffany & Co., the Post reported.

After being uncharacteristically quiet on Twitter following his victory, Trump called the protests “unfair” Thursday night.

On Friday morning, however, he changed his tune and praised the “small groups” of protesters.
