Aiming to make the ceremony more accessible, organizers will offer tickets to the general public for Mayor-Elect Bill de Blasio’s inauguration.

“Mayor-Elect de Blasio has pledged an inauguration for all New Yorkers, and that’s what New Yorkers will get in these ceremonies,” Gabrielle Fialkoff, chair of the inauguration, said in a statement Tuesday.

De Blasio will be sworn-in as the 109th mayor at noon on Jan. 1 along with Public Advocate-Elect Letitia James and Comptroller-Elect Scott Stringer.

Following the ceremony on the steps of City Hall, de Blasio and his wife, soon-to-be First Lady Chirlane McCray, will greet attendees.

De Blasio and McCray are also hosting an open house at Gracie Mansion on Jan. 5.

“From spending hours atCity Hall after the swearing-in meeting attendees, to opening up Gracie Mansion for anyone and everyone to attend, Inauguration 2014 promises to be one of the most open and accessible swearing-in events in New York City history,” Fialkoff said.

Information on how to request tickets for either the inauguration or open house will be released in the next few days.
