QMJHL Roundup: A look at Tuesday’s games

Stefan Fournier had a six-point night as the Victoriaville Tigres defeated the Gatineau Olympiques 9-4 in a wild Quebec Major Junior Hockey League game Tuesday.

Fournier had two goals and four assists while Philippe Maillet and Philippe Halley each scored twice and had two assists for Victoriaville (32-15-2).

Phillip Danault and Carl-Antoine Delisle also scored for the Tigres, who built up a 9-2 lead after scoring seven goals in the second period.

Adam Janosik scored in the first period for Gatineau as the Olympiques entered the second period down 2-1.

But it was all Victoriaville from there as the Tigres scored five consecutive goals before Janosik got his second of the night to make it 7-2 at 15:12 of the second.

Samuel Courtemanche and Kyle Morrison scored in the third period for the Olympiques (19-20-8).

Elsewhere in QMJHL action it was: Baie-Comeau 4, Cape Breton 3 (SO); and Quebec 2, Chicoutimi 1 (SO).

At Gatineau, Que., Tigers forward Yanni Gourde had two assists to pad his lead among the league’s scoring leaders. He has 27 goals and 88 points.

David Honzik made 22 saves in net for Victoriaville.

Alexandre Michaud and Francois Lacerte combined for 27 saves on 36 shots for Gatineau.

Drakkar 4, Screaming Eagles 3 (SO)

At Sydney, N.S., Jonathan Lessard scored the deciding goal in a shootout as Baie-Comeau (23-18-4) beat the Screaming Eagles (18-27-1).

Remparts 2, Sagueneens 1 (SO)

At Chicoutimi, Que., Louis Domingue made 45 saves and Mikhail Grigorenko scored the only goal in a shootout as Quebec (29-11-6)defeated the Sagueneens (23-16-8).
