A Queens man has been indicted for sex trafficking after he allegedly forced a 15-year-old intoprostitution— telling her “You’regonnabe my bitch” and refusing to let her go.
Hakim Jones, 22, of Jamaica, has been arraigned on a 14-count indictment that also charges him with kidnapping, rape, compelling prostitution, promoting prostitution, assault and endangering the welfare of a child, prosecutors announced Friday.
According to the Queens District Attorney’s office, the girl was picked up by a man in January when she left a group home with a friend. He then took her to a location in Queens where she was allegedly introduced to Jones and told by him “You’regonnabe my bitch.” He then wouldn’tto let her leave, prosecutors said.
Jones is also accused of taking several photos of the teen and posting ads for sex on Backpage.com. The alleged prostitution of the girl — from which Jones profited — took place through March.
The defendant is accused of using threats and violence to force a teenage girl into having sex dates with men for money. I want to stress that prostitution is not a victimless crime,” Queens District Attorney Richard A. Brown said in a statement. “Sex trafficking is an incessant act of brutality and degradation. This teenage girl was able to get away, but she will have to live with the horror of this experience for the rest of her life.”
