The MBTA announced yesterday it will expand its “Quiet Car” coaches to every Commuter Rail line by mid-June.
After a three-month trial on the Fitchburg and Franklin lines, about 90 percent of commuters surveyed said the program should be extended.
“Folks are looking for a little bit of peace and quiet on their commute in and out of Boston,” T GM Rich Davey said.
During peak hours on the car closest to the locomotive, riders can’t use cell phones and must speak softly.
