The question of whether Quinpool Road establishments should be allowed to operate lounges is going to public hearings.
Yesterday, Halifax Regional Council voted in favour of a motion of Peninsula Community Council to open the issue up to the public.
North End Coun. Jerry Blumenthal said he expects the hearing to be held in the next couple of weeks.
He said he doesn’t expect too much debate about the issue, due to both public information sessions and because he feels the planning amendments are a “fairly reasonable compromise.”
He said he has heard few concerns from constituents on the matter up to now.
