Forest Hills police have deemed six fires in the Queens neighborhood as suspicious and potentially arson.
Since late October, a rash of fires has started in vacant buildings under construction or renovation in Forest Hills, NBC New York reported, adding that, most recently on Tuesday, a fire destroyed a home at 66th Avenue and 108th Street. The pattern began on Oct. 20 inside a vacant hospital on 113th Street, and on Nov. 8, there was another fire at a home under constructionon 112th Street, the report claimed. RELATED:VIDEO: Newborn rescued from Queens house fire Fires also broke out on Nov. 10 on 67th Road, this past Sunday on 69th Road and Monday on Woodhaven Boulevard sources said in a related CBS report, which added that the most recent fire on Tuesday rose to two alarms, and investigators said a man was seen entering the location.

Judith Harrison, the commanding officer of Queens’112th Precinct, said the precinct is working with the FDNY and other investigative units such as the Arson and Explosion Squad, Detective Bureau and Crime Scene Unit,DNA Inforeported. RELATED:Early morning fire claims life of Queens man “We are looking for people that look suspicious, we are looking for houses under construction and houses that are being renovated,” Harrison was quoted by DNA Info.
Even though no one has been injured in the fires, fire can be unpredictable, police said, so authorities are asking for the public’s help quickly, NBC stated.
