No raccoons were injured in the shooting of this video.

Just how loud and raucous were New York Red Bulls fans on Sunday afternoon as their team took the first-leg of their MLS Cup playoff series with D.C. United? Crazy enough to shake RFK Stadium from the very top of the venue.

Not that it is a hard thing to do. Another good shake and the stadium might come tumbling down like the walls of Jericho.

In their segregated sections in the upper deck of RFK Stadium, the Red Bulls fans literally shook the pressbox. This video was captured by Pablo Mauer of MLSSoccer.com shows just how buoyant the 600 traveling supporters were in the aging and decrepit stadium. They were so loud and so wild that they shook the televisions of the press area:https://twitter.com/MLSist/status/660919736683864064

Ironically back in the league’s early days, RFK Stadium was once considered to be among the best venues in the league. But in recent years, chunks of the stadium are falling down and there is a well-known raccoon infestation at a facility built in 1961 but has been without any true upgrades in recent years.

RFK Stadium has been home of D.C. United since MLS started in 1996.

It wasn’t just the press who got into the action and noticed the group of red and white behind the goal. Red Bulls midfielder Shaun Wright-Phillips, a former English international, took to Twitter to hail the traveling supporters who made the journey down I-95 on Sunday:http://www.kicca.com/swp29/posts/5637b9bccc10ed789407e270

The Red Bulls can advance to the Eastern Conference Finals with a win or a tie at Red Bull Arena on Sunday afternoon.
