The Red Sox will wrap up their three-game set in San Diego on Wednesday (9 p.m., NESN) with David Price getting the ball for the Sox (14-8, 3.92 ERA). The Padres will counter with Jared Cosart (0-2, 5.14 ERA).

The Sox were a game out in the AL East on Tuesday afternoon and were a game up in the AL Wild Card standings – ahead of the Orioles and Tigers.

Boston has had an odd road trip so far as it totaled 27 runs in just two games against the A’s last Friday and Saturday night. On Sunday against Oakland and on Monday against the Padres, however, the Sox’ bats went cold as they scored just one run in the two outings.

The Red Sox are the last team in baseball that needs to worry about its offense though as it still leads MLB in runs scored with 752 on the season. The Sox easily have the most hits as a team this season as well, as their 1,378 hits outpace second-place Colorado, which has 1,307.

The Sox have an off-day on Thursday and then finish up their road trip in a pivotal weekend series in Toronto.
