TORONTO – The Toronto Blue Jays have signed free-agent closer Francisco Cordero according to multiple media reports.
ESPN.com reported that Cordero, a former closer in Cincinnati, signed a one-year, US$4.5-million contract with Toronto.
Cordero was 5-3 with a 2.45 ERA and 37 saves for the Reds last season.
He would join a revamped Blue Jays bullpen including new closer Sergio Santos and returning veteran Jason Frasor.
