Report: Carmelo Anthony out 1-2 weeks

One day after Knicks head coach Mike D’Antoni told the media Carmelo Anthony would be “day-to-day” with a right groin strain, word is that he’ll be missing a little more time.

SNY.tv’s Adam Zagoria is reporting Anthony will be out one to two weeks with the groin injury. That means he could miss as many as six games, starting with a trip to Washington tomorrow and then hosting the Lakers on ESPN Friday night.

Anthony injured the groin throwing an alley oop to Tyson Chandler in the first quarter of Monday’s win over Utah, limped back down the court, but was eventually taken out and did not return.

Amar’e Stoudemire also missed the Utah win after traveling to Florida to be with his family after the death of his brother Hazell early Monday morning.
