It sounds this morning like Theo Epstein is as good as gone.
WEEI is reporting that the Red Sox GM has accepted a five-year, $15 million contract with the Chicago Cubs.
The only holdup appears to be what compensation the Sox will receive from the National League club. Epstein has one year remaining on his Boston contract.
Expect a resolution this week, one way or the other. The Sox aren’t bringing in managerial candidates for interviews until the GM situation is resolved.
