Fish and Wildlife was on the hunt for a young black bear Thursday after several Calgarians reported sightings in the north.
“He could be looking for a territory to set up himself, he could be looking for food or he could have been pushed out by mom,” said district Fish and Wildlife officer Tom Biglin. “He’s likely headed west.”
Biglin said this is one of many alleged sightings in 2010, with several calls from the southwest earlier in the year. At press time, Biglin said they would continue to monitor the bear to ensure that he leaves the city safely.
