A robber hit two more Dunkin’ Donuts stores in communities north of Boston Monday night, adding to the growing list of donut shops held up in recent months.

Burlington and Bedford police said Dunkin’ Donuts in their towns were robbed minutes apart. The towns border each other.

Burlington police said officers were called to the donut shop on Winn Street just after 8 p.m. The man appeared to show workers a black pistol and demanded money from the register before he fled. He was wearing a ski mask, black hooded jacket, jeans, black sneakers and gloves.

“It is believed that this incident may be related to similar incidents in the area and the Burlington Police Department is working closely with area departments to identify the suspect,” police said in a statement.

About 20 minutes after that robbery, a Dunkin’ Donuts in Bedford was robbed by a man with a gun.

More than a dozen Dunkin’ Donuts have been robbed in the past few months, including five in Boston. Other communities to experience the robberies include Canton, Norwood, North Attleboro and Raynham. In many of the robberies, the man wears a mask and displays a knife or a gun.

Police have released surveillance videos and images of the suspect in an attempt to locate him. Dunkin’ Donuts is offering a $10,000 reward.

Burlington police said they have stepped up patrols at the shops.
