A day after an interview was released in which he slammed the practices of the NFL, Patriots owner Robert Kraft seemingly kissed and made up with NFL commissioner Roger Goodell Tuesday at the league’s owners meetings in San Francisco.

Kraft and the commissioner embraced upon seeing one another, and shortly after, Kraft said that the Patriots would accept the team’s punishment over Deflategate. It must be noted, that the acceptance of this punishment by Kraft is based on the loss of first and fourth round draft picks and the $1 million fine. The Tom Brady appeal of a four-game suspension, headed by the NFLPA, is a separate issue.

“Although I might disagree what is decided, I do have respect for [Goodell] and believe that he’s doing what he perceives to be the best interests of [all 32 NFL teams],” Kraft said. “So in that spirit, I don’t want to continue the rhetoric that’s gone on for the last four months.”

There is the distinct possibility that Kraft and Goodellare working towards a deal to cut Brady’s suspension at least in half. It was reported by ESPN Monday night that the league and the Patriots were working through back-door channels to reach a resolution. It’s hard to believe Kraft would bow down to Goodellso quickly after being so defiant, without a guarantee that his quarterback will see his sentence reduced substantially.
