The bitter stand-off between the Jets and quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick is over as the two sides agreed to a one-year, $12 million deal Wednesday – according to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport.

Rapoport tweeted around 6:30 p.m. EDT that, “talks are heating up for the Jets and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, and they are negotiating back-and-forth. Jets trying to get it done.”

Rapoport followed that up with, “The Jets are signing Ryan Fitzpatrick … For the #Jets and QB Ryan Fitzpatrick, it’s a 1-year deal worth $12M, source said.”

Fitzpatrick had his most efficient year as a pro in 2015, completing 335 passes out of 562 attempts for 3,905 yards and 31 touchdowns. He was picked off 15 times and registered an 88.0 passer rating for the season. The 33-year-old was in position to get the Jets into the playoffs but had the worst game of his season in the season-finale at Buffalo, completing just 16-of-37 passes and being picked off three times.
