Salem man shot in butt arraigned in hospital bed

Brock Fleming, the man Salem Police shot in the buttocks, was arraigned in his hospital room at North Shore Medical Center on Wednesday for charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, mayhem and attempt to commit a crime.

He was held without bail. Fleming, 21, was shot on Tuesday morning when he allegedly ran at an officer with a knife in hand. Police started looking for Fleming after they found a 34-year-old man who had been stabbed in the neck and wrist on Salem Street.

He was able to tell police that Fleming was his attacker before he was taken to Massachusetts General Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
