Sandra Bernhard at Joe’s Pub, Deer Tick at Brooklyn Bowl and more things to do in NYC

Christmas for the Jews
Dec. 24, 8-10 p.m.
City Winery, 155 Varick St.
$30-$35

What’s a poor lonely Jew to do while friends are celebrating Jesus and Santa Claus on Christmas Eve? Go see a comedy show, of course. This 90-minute set of sketches pokes fun at the holidays and Jewish traditions, led by Joel Chasnoff, Lenny Marcus, Gary Vider and Moody McCarthy.

Christmas Eve Jewbilee and Jewess Eve
Dec. 24, 9 p.m.
605 W. 48th St.
$15-$25

T’was the night before Christmas, and rumor has it that even ol’ Ebenezer Scrooge was seen partying at Stage 48 at the ninth annual Christmas Eve Jewbilee. Don’t let the name fool you, “goytoys” join the gay Jews for an LGBT party scene with performances by Harlem’s Jewish Princess, Miz Cracker, as well as Lady SinAGaga. Upstairs at Cantina Rooftop, the ladies gather for Jewess Eve with Sara Rivka Davidson and music by DJ Dandy — plus some “sexy surprises.”

Sandra Bernhard
Dec. 26-31
Joe’s Pub, 425 Lafayette
$65-$200

The crushingly sardonic comedian answers your post-Christmas wishes with a six-night show, “Feel the Bernhard.” It’s just as ballsy as fans have come to expect, if not more, rife with open disgust about problems facing society (ahem, politics), but with a seriously humorous perspective that sweeps the audience right along with her. And why not? If your goal is to start knocking off calories in the New Year, you might as well start by laughing your ass off.

Good Riddance Day
Dec. 28, noon-1 p.m.
Times Square
Free

Some things are better forgotten, but if you need a little help letting go, there’s Good Riddance Day. Inspired by the Latin American tradition of burning bad-luck tokens before the New Year, Times Square is hosting Shred-It’s “destruction services” to help you start 2016 with a clean slate. Share your terrible memories in a group catharsis, then put them on paper and send them on a satisfying trip through the shredder.

Deer Tick
Dec. 30 & 31, 8:30 & 9 p.m.
Brooklyn Bowl, 61 Wythe Ave., Brooklyn
$30-$50

For a second year, Deer Tick is returning to Brooklyn Bowl for a New Year’s Eve residency. Though fans lucked out with six concerts in 2014, this year there are just two nights to get in on the show that will make all of your out-of-town friends jealous. And that’s what Brooklyn is all about, right? Their lineup will span their complete catalog, including covers from bands ranging from Devo to The Beatles. Plus, expect some surprise guests to drop in.

Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band
Dec. 31, 9 p.m.
Barclays Center, 620 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn
$65-$550

Change your latitude for the New Year when Jimmy Buffett and the Coral Reefer Band play Barclays Center on Dec. 31. Bringing Margaritaville to Brooklyn for the first time, on the 40th anniversary of his first Top 40 hit, Buffett will also be joined by Huey Lewis and The News, who have also impressively now been touring for 36 years. Plus, there will be a third special guest that’s yet to be announced. All three of these musical acts will play from 9 straight into 2016.

Swingin’ New Year’s Day
Jan. 1, 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
City Winery, 155 Varick St.
$28

You know what you need after spending the night ringing in the New Year with copious amounts of wine and champagne? City Winery does, and it’s an unlimited brunch with items from chicken apple sausage to latkes with fruit compote (aka everything you need to soak up what remains of last year’s booze). Guests will also enjoy a performance from Paul Shapiro’s Ribs and Brisket Revue, which offers a modern take on old-world American music, like jazz and blues, but with a Jewish folk music twist (hence, latkes).
