Santas take a ride

The thought of snow and winter has most Edmontonians cringing, but Christmas in September has a special ring, or roar to it.

The 26th annual Edmonton Motorcycle Toy Run for Santas Anonymous hit the streets yesterday with more than 3,500 bikes carrying toys for needy children in Edmonton.

“We don’t ever want children to go without, that is what is important,” said Laurie Billings, executive director of the Alberta Safety Council.

People lined the streets to catch a glimpse of these wheeled Santa’s and their toy companions as they roared their way from Capilano Mall to Hawrelak Park.

Santas Anonymous is charity that helps the under privileged children to have a better and brighter Christmas and all the toys and money raised from this event stays in Edmonton.
